MY APPROACH

Integrative with person-centred basis

Lincoln-based Online Therapist

My name is Ioan Cazacu (John) and I am a counsellor and integrative therapist providing both short term and long term online therapy to adults, young people (16+) and couples. I offer sessions via Zoom or telephone call.

All of us go through tough times during our lives, when work, school, friendships, family events feel overwhelming or when we feel lost, unheard, excluded, scared or misunderstood. Attending therapy with a trained professional can help us understand those challenging times and offers a way for us to express what we think, feel and believe in a safe, non judgmental environment, this leading us to a better understanding of ourselves, our thought process and feelings.

I am open to working with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. I am a fully qualified counsellor and I am member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I follow the BACP ethical guidelines throughout all of my counselling sessions.

My Approach

How Therapy Can Help You

Life is challenging, and it is completely understandable that you want or need to ask for help. The bravest thing you could do is ask for help. My role as a therapist is to provide space and assistance on your journey of self-discovery, enabling you to examine your life according to your needs and make positive, meaningful choices within it.

As a therapist I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems that you are experiencing in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential environment with someone from outside of your day-to-day life. Therapy is a collaborative process and together we can explore new perspectives, meanings and views of different situations as well as new understandings of yourself. All of these are done collaboratively in order to suit your needs. Therapy is not about offering you advice or short term solutions, rather it is a way of empowering yourself in order for you to be able to make your own informed changes.

My approach is integrative, with a person-centred basis. An integrative approach allows me to use different techniques and knowledge from a wide range of therapeutic models in order to shape our therapeutic relationship in a way that is more suited to your specific needs. This is an empathetic and non-judgmental way of working, in which the client is at the center of the therapeutic process and where the therapist creates the right environment for the client to flourish. This type of therapeutic approach focuses on the collaboration between the client and the therapist in order for the therapy to reach its goals and the client to reach their full potential.

Getting Started

You may not know it, but you've already taken the first step

Therapy takes place from a setting of your choice and convenience, allowing you to express yourself openly in a safe, supportive, non-judgmental, and empathetic therapeutic space, all from the comfort of your own home.

Working together can help you gain a different perspective on the difficulties you are facing and help you understand why you act or react in the way you do and see how you can start making healthier choices for yourself.

Therapy provides you with a set of skills you can use to gain a better understanding of the difficulties you are facing and move you towards resolving them.
